Ugh, I've liked Josh Malerman books in the past and this one was on my radar, but I can't with kids who are written much younger than they're supposed to be. Now I'm worried about reading it.
I do know a lot of people who loved the book, so maybe it won't go that way for you, but I did creep on Goodreads enough to see I am not alone in my assessment. I don't know why he didn't just age her down? It's scarier as 4 year old anyway! I think the movie has tons of potential.
A week off with nothing big planned sounds amazing! Succession is such an amazing show, I can't believe you could wait so long to watch the final season! I think we may end up doing a rewatch in the fall. Also, the Maternal Instinct doc is some of the wildest sh*t I've ever seen and I've seen a lot. Like, why? How? Who ARE these people?! I have SO many questions.
Truly I cannot stop thinking about that documentary. I watch a lot (a LOT) of true crime and this one rattled me, which is saying something. Succession was amazing! So pleased with the ending. Now what to watch next....
Thank you! The Lamb was SO intense and good. I have East of Eden on my TBR - it's one of the few Steinbecks I've never read and I want to read it before the movie. The length keeps making me put it off.
